still 和yet都有“還”、“仍然”的含義，still常用于肯定句中，表示“某事正在進(jìn)行中”，一般與現(xiàn)在時(shí)態(tài)或進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài)連用。也可用在疑問句或否定句中，在否定句中須放在否定詞not之前。 yet表示“某事尚未發(fā)生”，多用于否定句或帶否定詞的陳述句中。yet通常放在句尾，still一般放在句中。

Still用于進(jìn)行時(shí)態(tài)：

I'm still hungry.

我還是很餓。

Does he still work in the company？

他還在那個(gè)公司工作嗎？

still用于否定詞前：

They still haven't got more money．

他們到現(xiàn)在還是沒有賺更多的錢。

still 出現(xiàn)在疑問句中，常表示某種感情色彩，"驚訝、生氣"等。

Is that boy still here？

那個(gè)男孩還在這里么？

Yet用于否定句中，可與最高級(jí)連用：

He has not yet begun to work．

他尚未開始工作。

Of all the songs I've heard tonight, that's the best yet.

Yet可以用于強(qiáng)調(diào) another 或 again 之類的詞，尤指數(shù)量增加或某事發(fā)生頻繁：

Rachel bought yet another pair of shoes to add to her collection.

I'm sorry to bother you yet again.

我很抱歉又來麻煩你。

另外Still作副詞講，還有以下的含義：

1.盡管那樣，盡管如此

You may not approve of what he did, but he's still your brother.

你可能不贊成他的所作所為，但他仍然是你的兄弟。

2.（程度或數(shù)量）還要，更加

The company is hoping to extend its market still further.

公司希望可以進(jìn)一步拓展市場(chǎng)。

另外：Still作形容詞，有以下的含義：

靜止的；不動(dòng)的，安靜的

She sat perfectly still while I look at her.

我看著她的時(shí)候，她坐著一動(dòng)不動(dòng)。
