Sam Mendes' Skyfall, the latest James Bond franchise entry starring Daniel Craig, is now the highest grossing film at the U.K. box office in 2012.

With its massive take of ￡57 million after 12 days in release, the 007 thriller has overtaken The Dark Knight Rises, which had been year's most successful release to date.

It is now also the biggest Bond movie of all time in the U.K. exceeding the ￡55.6 million ($88.9 million) achieved by Casino Royale in 2006, according to figures released by Eon Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond adventure, continuing the longest running and most successful franchise in film history, opened in 587 cinemas across the U.K. and Ireland Oct. 26.

It released in the US on Nov. 9 and is tracking for a massive opening there also.

The movie is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and sees Craig return for his third outing as Ian Fleming’s 007 to find his loyalty to M tested as her past comes back to haunt her in the film written by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and John Logan.

《007》將于本周末在北美上映，據(jù)外媒預(yù)測(cè)，影片有望在首周末拿到7000萬以上的票房，突破007系列之《大破量子危機(jī)》所創(chuàng)下的6752萬，創(chuàng)系列票房新高。不過，片方索尼公司依舊保持著樂觀并且謹(jǐn)慎的態(tài)度，給出的首周預(yù)期票房是6700萬。
