Hello, Chinese friends. This is Bill Gates. On behalf of the Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation, I wish you all a very happy new year. 2011 has been a tough year for many of the economies around the world. People who suffered the most are those in the greatest poverty. Yet despite the economic challenges, I'm optimistic that in 2012 we can build on the principles of generosity and innovation that have succeeded in the past. The group of countries able to contribute resources to development is larger than ever before. And the number of people who have the ability to spur the innovation is much greater than in the past. China has done a fantastic job of reducing poverty in its own country. It's in a great position to help other countries because of its successful experiences, innovative talents and enormous technical capabilities and health in agriculture. I'm convinced that together we can give the world a more comprehensive and cooperative approach to improving the lives of the poor. And together we can make a big difference.
各位中國朋友，大家好！我是比爾?蓋茨。我代表比爾及梅琳達(dá)?蓋茨基金會給大家拜年！對于很多國家來說，2012是個艱難的一年。其中，貧困人群受到的影響最大。盡管目前世界面臨嚴(yán)峻的經(jīng)濟(jì)挑戰(zhàn)，我仍然樂觀地認(rèn)為：既然慈善和創(chuàng)新曾經(jīng)取得巨大成功，那么在2012年也一定會繼續(xù)發(fā)揮重要作用。今天，無論是可以為發(fā)展項目貢獻(xiàn)資源的國家數(shù)量，還是能夠推動創(chuàng)新的個人數(shù)量，都遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)超過以往的任何時候。在清除貧困方面，中國的成績有目共睹。中國在衛(wèi)生和農(nóng)業(yè)方面的成功經(jīng)驗、創(chuàng)新能力和強(qiáng)大技術(shù)，都是非常寶貴的資源，可以用于幫助其他國家發(fā)展。我深信，只要我們共同努力，全球發(fā)展可以更加全面均衡，合作更加緊密，從而更好地改善貧困人品生活，推動世界進(jìn)步！
