才22歲的Newton留了一頭超級有型的雷鬼捲長髮，加上蓄鬍的酷模樣，雖然讓他的外型看來比實(shí)際年紀(jì)大很多，但是當(dāng)他開口唱歌、彈著吉他，相當(dāng)成熟與滿滿自信即刻湧現(xiàn)，我們更需要一個有型的歌手，不光只是乾乾淨(jìng)淨(jìng)、斯斯文文或漂漂亮亮的偶像氣質(zhì)包裝。

15歲開始學(xué)吉他，並進(jìn)入培養(yǎng)搖滾和流行樂派的The Academy of Contemporary Music英國著名音樂學(xué)院就讀。Newton的第一個團(tuán)體是專門翻唱Green Day之龐克隊(duì)伍，有了些許舞臺經(jīng)驗(yàn)後，自組放克搖滾團(tuán)Half A Guy，錄製出的兩張獨(dú)立DEMO，讓他們成為相當(dāng)受歡迎的尚未簽約樂團(tuán)。隨後以Newton Battenberg Faulkner之名四處表演，順勢販賣自製的創(chuàng)作EP，引起廣泛討論的Newton，不僅受邀上BBC Radio 2節(jié)目，更入主SONYBMG國際音樂大廠旗下。
