Young Chinese people returning from studying overseas and lacking in work experience are likely to earn a starting salary similar to those of graduates from domestic universities, because of white-hot competition in the job market, a recent survey showed.
近期一份調(diào)查表明，由于市場(chǎng)競(jìng)爭(zhēng)的日趨白熱化，中國(guó)具有海外留學(xué)經(jīng)歷但是卻沒有工作經(jīng)歷的年輕海歸派和本地大學(xué)畢業(yè)生的薪金相差無(wú)幾。

That's according to a report released on Tuesday by the Education International Cooperation Group (EICG), a consultative agency for study overseas.
這份報(bào)告在本周二由國(guó)際教育集團(tuán)發(fā)布，國(guó)際教育集團(tuán)是一家專門研究留學(xué)市場(chǎng)的咨詢機(jī)構(gòu)。

The report shows that graduates returning from foreign study earn an average starting salary of 3,000 yuan ($472) a month. And more than 70 percent of them return to China following graduation.
這份報(bào)告指出海歸畢業(yè)生的平均收入在3000元，折合473美元每月。而且有超過(guò)70%的中國(guó)留學(xué)生畢業(yè)后返回中國(guó)。

As many as 7,000 returnees responded to the survey. Only 18 percent of them are earning more than 10,000 yuan a month, a 50 percent decline compared with 2010, according to the report.
總共有7000名海歸參加了這次調(diào)查。根據(jù)報(bào)告，只有18%的報(bào)告說(shuō)他們的月薪超過(guò)1萬(wàn)元，這個(gè)比例比2010年的高薪比例下降了50%。

Returnees who lack work experience suffer the most. About half of them do not have work experience overseas or in China, and most of them are unable to earn more than 5,000 yuan a month, the report said.
在這個(gè)過(guò)程當(dāng)中，海歸派中那些沒有工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)的最為痛苦，大約有一半的海歸留學(xué)生沒有國(guó)內(nèi)或者海外的工作經(jīng)歷，他們當(dāng)中的大部分起始月薪無(wú)法超過(guò)5000。

The EICG report shows that 66 percent of respondents said their overseas education is likely to be positive to their career.

"The experience of studying overseas is likely to give me more than just my current salary," said Xu Zhi, who works for an advertising agency in Guangzhou.?She said the experience of studying in the US last year will definitely help her prospects, although currently her pretax salary is about 3,000 yuan a month.
調(diào)查參與者徐芝現(xiàn)在供職于廣州的一家廣告代理商，她表示“留學(xué)經(jīng)歷給我?guī)?lái)的東西并不僅僅是當(dāng)前的工資這么簡(jiǎn)單”，去年在美國(guó)的留學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)擴(kuò)充了她自己的眼界，雖然當(dāng)前她的稅前工資只有3000元左右。

The advantage of studying overseas will gradually become more apparent as the returnees gain more work experience, said manager of EIGG, pointing out that they have an international perspective and the ability to communicate across different cultures.

Private enterprise is the main sector employing returnees this year. The EICG report shows that 46 percent of respondents work in private enterprises, while 32 percent work for foreign-owned enterprises or joint ventures.
國(guó)際教育集團(tuán)的報(bào)告指出，私營(yíng)公司是海歸派的主要雇主，報(bào)告中46%的參與者在私營(yíng)公司上班，32%在外資私營(yíng)和合資公司上班。

The report also shows that large cities such as Beijing and Shanghai are the most attractive destinations for those returning from abroad.
