　　一、我們比較常用的“人們”

　　“人們”是考生寫(xiě)作過(guò)程中使用到的很普遍的一個(gè)詞。但是除了“people”“person”，還有哪些英語(yǔ)單詞也表示同一意思呢?

　　people：individuals, the public, citizens, one, figure

　　例1：政府應(yīng)該考慮到人們的利益，否則人們就有權(quán)利反對(duì)政府。

　　The government is supposed to consider the interests of the public, if not, citizens have the right to be against the authority.

　　例2：我們需要學(xué)校把學(xué)生培養(yǎng)為好人。

　　We need our schools to teach students to be good citizens.

　　二、常用的“認(rèn)為”

　　雅思寫(xiě)作過(guò)程中，在表達(dá)他人觀點(diǎn)，作者觀點(diǎn)以及結(jié)尾重申觀點(diǎn)時(shí)，考生都會(huì)用到“認(rèn)為”這個(gè)詞，然而我們不能一整篇文章都用“think”啦，不然考官一定認(rèn)為這個(gè)學(xué)生平時(shí)不善于積累。

　　think：hold, maintain, contend, deem, believe, argue

　　例1：批評(píng)者堅(jiān)稱這些改革會(huì)導(dǎo)致教育標(biāo)準(zhǔn)下降。

　　Critics maintain that these reforms will lead to a decline in educational standards.

　　例2：該黨把教育視為政府面臨的比較重要的問(wèn)題。

　　The party believes that education is the most important issue facing the government.

　　三、“社會(huì)”

　　可能很多同學(xué)會(huì)認(rèn)為“社會(huì)”類似于一個(gè)專有名詞，不太具有可替換性，其實(shí)不然。但是這些詞確實(shí)有一些細(xì)微差別，society所用的范圍較廣泛;community多用于指代“國(guó)際社會(huì)”;而“public”多指“公共場(chǎng)合”。

　　society：the real world, the community, the public

　　例1：這反映出社會(huì)上普遍流行的態(tài)度和價(jià)值觀。

　　This reflects attitudes and values prevailing in society.

　　例2：總統(tǒng)呼吁國(guó)際社會(huì)向水災(zāi)災(zāi)區(qū)提供援助。

　　The President appealed to the international community for aid for the flood victims.

　　四、“著名的”

　　寫(xiě)作時(shí)我們用得較多的短語(yǔ)還有“因......而著名”，那么可以表達(dá)“著名的，出名的”以及“名人”的詞匯有哪些呢?

　　famous：noted, well-known, eminent, distinguished, celebrated

　　famous person：celebrity, luminary, legendary figure

　　例1：他不但是一位美術(shù)家，而且還是一位著名的作家。

　　Not only was he an artist, but also he was a famous writer.

　　例2：當(dāng)我們?cè)谟懻撃切┟藭r(shí)，我們都想知道他們是如何取得成功的。

　　When we talk about those celebrities, we all like to know how they succeed.

　　五、“相信，信任”

　　“相信，信任”除了believe也可以用短語(yǔ)來(lái)表達(dá)，同學(xué)們注意積累。

　　believe: have belief in, have faith/trust in

　　例1：即使我們場(chǎng)上處境困難，我們也充分相信自己改變結(jié)果的能力。

　　Even though we are in a difficult position, we have belief in our ability to change the result.

　　例2：你必須要相信一些東西——你的勇氣，命運(yùn)，生活，因果報(bào)應(yīng)，等等。(史蒂夫·喬布斯)

　　You have to trust in something——you gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.
